Dear Parents,

Congratulations to your son or daughter for successfully completing 5th grade. I am certain that each of them will be successful next year as well.

Next year in 6th grade Math, your child will see many of the same skills studied this year, however, on a more complex level. For your child to be successful, please have them practice using theirIXL.com math account. My requirement is that each child practices on IXL atleast one hour each week.

The summer reading list is attached. I have chosen one novel for the students that they are to read this summer. All students are required to read the novel suggested this summer. In addition, students have a choice of activities for follow up. The students will pick one activity from the list attached. The completed project will be due by the end of the first FULL week of school. These activities will be graded and averaged into the first quarter Reading grades. Please remember to remind your child to complete their summer reading neatly. They may use the computer to type up their project or write it with their best cursive handwriting. I look forward to seeing their project in August.

I have also posted this letter within Google Classroom for you to access all summer long if needed. Feel free to email me at rgrant@stpeterscatholicschool.org,if you have questions. I will be checking my email over the summer months from time to time. Have a great summer and happy reading!
